$7,998.00 $7,999.99

The Sony VPLVW385ES is easily our choice for best projector under $10,000! This baby is fitted with Native 4K which produces incredibly lifelike pictures at more than four times the resolution of full HD.

In fact, this machine provides 8.8 million pixels (4096 X 2160) for a spectacularly lifelike picture that really is, just like looking at the real thing.

The Sony is top of our list for a number of reasons: one of which is the impressive contrast ratio of 200,000: 1 which brings every scene to life with incredible detail, realism, and depth.

With this beautiful machine, you can enjoy the latest content produced with HDR (High Dynamic Range) which gives a huge contrast range and some of the best brightness levels and color volumes available from any projector on the market today.

Owners of the Sony projector are loving the option of up-scaling their old Blu-ray and DVD movies to near 4K quality. The Sony is fitted with technology that analyzes every single pixel and maps them against an ever-evolving picture-patterning database, which has been 10 years in the making.

This feature enhances colors, contrast, and image textures without unnecessarily enhancing image artifacts.

This amazing projector is also fitted with “Motionflow” which ensures silky smooth images in fast-moving action scenes.

Without getting too technical, this feature creates and inserts extra frames by calculating split seconds of missing action sequences for the most realistic home viewing experience ever!!

The icing on the cake is Sony’s awesome TRILUMIONOS display which produces true-to-life colors, tones, and textures. Of all the machines we have tested, no other projector under $10,000 can match the Crimson-reds, aqua-blues and emerald-greens that make landscapes look so vivid and the faces of your favorite celebrities so lifelike.

The Sony weighs 36.8 pounds and measures 21.75 x 24.75 x 12.38 inches and it has an image brightness of 1500 lumens.

How many lumens do you need in a projector?

Don’t make the mistake that brighter is always better! it is not! For example, for a small home theater in a darkened room, 1000 – 1300 lumens is ample to give a clear, large, bright image, whereas a 2000 lumens projector would be too bright in such conditions. If you need to use a projector in a well-lit location, 3000 lumens should be about right. However, if you make presentations in very large rooms you may need a projector producing 3000 lumens.

Can I play my TV through a projector?

Not directly, but if you happen to own a cable TV / satellite top box / DVD / Blu-ray or VCR, you will be able to connect the output of the top box to your projector with no trouble.

back to menu ↑

Do I need a projector screen?

You can just use a white wall as a screen but a high-quality projection screen will make the images much brighter and clearer.

Projector screens actually reflect back light and when used in conjunction with the projector, will make colors and images “pop” right off the screen. All projector screens are rated by their “gain factor” which is a measure of how efficiently the screen reflects light. If the gain factor is higher, the image is brighter.

Screen sizes range from 50 to 300 inches (measured diagonally.) You should also make sure that the screen size matches the aspect ratio of your projector.

What other accessories will I need?

A Projector Mount – If you only use your projector in one place, a mount on the ceiling or wall will keep your machine safe and ready to use without spending ages “setting it up” each time.

An Audio Sound System – Home theater sound systems are vital if you are watching movies or playing computer games.

A Universal Remote – Not essential but a universal remote is a very handy way to control all of your audio and video gear with one controller. Many universal remotes use Wi-Fi to connect wirelessly and are powerful enough to use from behind doors or even in different rooms.
